"Nickname"/Notes for devices

An option to add alternative names or notes to devices, making it easier to identify them without having to open the device and read the labels. The hostname isn't always unique. Attached is an idea of what this might look like. The text in parentheses would be the alternative name; personally, I would prefer to display it in a different color—for example, a shade of gray—behind the name in all views where the name is visible.
