Example:
The Workstation Check Package includes general checks such as utilization, hard drive checks, SMART checks, etc.
Now, for example, virtual machines are also classified as workstations and would therefore be assigned to the Check Package. However, SMART checks are not needed here. The same applies, for example, to a device on which software completely fills a hard drive and overwrites data when new data needs to be generated—in this case, the hard drive check triggers continuously.
The current solution would be to create separate check packages for each of these individual cases and manage the assignment on a daily basis, or to create and assign complete packages for individual checks. However, this defeats the purpose of check packages.
Solution:
In the check package, include options for assigned checks to exclude devices on a tag-based basis to which this specific check is not applied, or an option to disable or override checks assigned to devices via packages.
